Historical background
On February 11, 1940, the state archive of the Pinsk region was formed.
During the Great Patriotic War, the archive’s activities were interrupted and resumed on August 3, 1944.
In connection with the liquidation of the Pinsk region in 1954, the regional archive was reorganized into a branch of the state archive of the Brest region in Pinsk.
On September 20, 1996, the branch was renamed the Zonal State Archive in Pinsk. On June 30, 2001, the archive became known as the scientific and methodological institution «Zonal State Archive in Pinsk».
On May 4, 2012, the scientific and methodological institution «Zonal State Archive in Pinsk» was renamed into the institution «Zonal State Archive in Pinsk».
