The Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa took part in a radio broadcast

On March 20, 2025, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the USSR’s victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, employees of the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsaleading archeographer of the information and use of documents department Sergei Zharnosenko and leading archivist of the department of work with archives of organizations, acquisition and office work Galina Zhandarova – took part in the daytime broadcast of Gomel City Radio on the topic «Roads of Victory».

In a conversation with host Angelina Goncharova, archivists talked about the letters of the Great Patriotic War stored in the Rechitsa State Archives. Among them are letters from 1944 sent to the administration of the Mikulich village council of the Bragin district and containing requests to report on the fate of the villages of the district and their residents, a letter from soldier Semyon Aniskovets to the village of Klivy in the Khoiniki district, a letter from a Rechitsa woman who was a prisoner of a concentration camp, and other letters illustrating everyday life at the front and the German occupation.

The role of letters from the Great Patriotic War in society was noted, which consisted of presenting information from them to the general public, organizing exhibitions of archival documents, preparing articles, holding lectures in educational institutions, etc.
