«Productive School Breaks»
During the school holidays, the Zonal State Archive in Bobruisk organized an excursion for the children of its staff members. The event was designed to introduce the younger generation to the work of an archive, promote the archivist profession, and provide the children with an engaging and meaningful way to spend their time off from school.
The tour was led by experienced archive staff. The children visited the document storage facilities, learned about the conditions required for preserving records, and discovered the principles behind how archival collections are built and maintained. The young guests were shown some of the most significant and intriguing items from the archive’s holdings, including documents of great historical value.
Following the educational program, a tea party was held, giving the children a chance to share their impressions and ask the staff questions. The event took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere and received positive feedback from both the children and their parents—the archive’s employees.
The archive’s management notes that organizing such events helps strengthen corporate spirit, enhances the prestige of the profession, and fosters an interest in history and documentary heritage among the younger generation. The possibility of making these excursions for employees’ children a regular occurrence is currently being considered.
