From Theory to Practice: Students Visit the Central Laboratory

As part of the «Archives to Schools» national campaign, the Central Laboratory for the Preservation of Documents of the National Archival Fonds of the Republic of Belarus hosted an educational excursion for 5th-grade students (class 5 «B») from Secondary School No.134 in Minsk (named after T.S.Marinenko).

During the tour, the students learned about the core activities of the Central Laboratory:

They were given a firsthand look at the meticulous process of restoring fragile, aged paper documents to their original state, as well as the microfilming of highly valuable records to create a security (preservation) collection.
