Document Exhibition: «We Hold Tight in the Photo; We Will Hold Just as Tight in Life»
In anticipation of the Week of Parental Love in Belarus, Yu.A.Kiselyova — an archivist in the Department of Document Utilization and Publication at the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region — has prepared an exhibition titled «We Hold Tight in the Photo; We Will Hold Just as Tight in Life».
The exhibition features documents from the personal archive of Galina Petrovna Markina (1931–1985), an actress at the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater and a People’s Artist of the BSSR. Galina Markina was born into a family of actors; conversations about plays, roles, and performances were a constant part of home life. Her parents passed their love for the theater on to their daughter. Her father, P.A.Markin (1903–1958), was an actor at the Brest Regional Drama Theater and an Honored Artist of the BSSR. Her mother, O.S.Zakharova (1908–1981), was a theater and film actress and an Honored Artist of the BSSR.
The exhibition comprises several sections and reveals the dynamics within the Markin acting family—relationships imbued with warmth, mutual respect, love, and support.
The exhibition is located in the archive’s second building (32 Lenin Street) and is accessible to staff and reading room patrons.
