Conducting lessons on the topic «Archives and their role in history» for 5th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.26 named after A.N. Sivachev of Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» campaign at the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution

On November 11, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the «State Archives of the Grodno Region» institution conducted 2 lessons on the topic «Archives and their role in history» for 5th-grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.26 named after A.N.Sivachev of Grodno».

Archives employees told schoolchildren about the history of the archive, the main areas of its activities, as well as the importance of the archivist profession. The students were presented with the most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive. During the lessons, the children got acquainted with the exhibitions of documents exhibited in the reading room.

A guided tour of the archive was conducted for the children, during which they visited the archive storage and the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.
