Zonal State Archive in Molodechno presents the second edition of the media project «Archive Gazette» on the YouTube platform

The Zonal State Archive in Molodechno is pleased to announce the release of the second edition of the media product «Archive Gazette» on the YouTube platform. In it, the young archivist Ekaterina Lebedeva, an active participant of the «School Archives» project, will go on another journey through the documentary pages of the history of Molodechno.

November 14 marks 80 years since the first post-war session of the City Council, an important decision was made to revive Molodechno as quickly as possible. This moment became the starting point for a new life, a new hope. After the war, the city was in ruins, destroyed by 90%, and the population was reduced by half. November 1944 was a time when hope for recovery was intertwined with grief and loss…

The focus of attention of the heroine of the issue is on the decision of the city council. In it, in particular, it is stated: to attract all the able-bodied population to work, trade union and Komsomol organizations had to take active participation. Management of practical works was entrusted to the department of communal economy of the Molodechno Executive Committee and to local construction offices. Also, the document established norms of working hours for various categories of the population. According to the decision, they were issued a plan-order, indicating the address, terms, scope of work. The following methods of stimulation were considered: an honor board, an honor book, publication in the press. The start of mass participation in restoration work was scheduled for November 19, 1944.

With the document kept by the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno, large-scale works on the restoration of infrastructure, housing stock and social institutions began. People united, worked shoulder to shoulder, reviving what seemed impossible. The main message of the issue: the strength of our people lies in patriotism, unity and hard work.
