Opening of “The Origins of the Belarusian Soviet Architecture” exhibition dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Aleksander Voinov, one of the first architects in Soviet Belarus

On 1 November 2007, an exhibition “The Origins of the Belarusian Soviet Architecture” dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Aleksander Petrovich Voinov, one of the first architects in soviet Belarus, founder of the national architecture school, and one of the founders of design science in Belarus, was opened at the Belarusian State Archives of Scientific and Technical Documentation. The exhibition makes known the documents held at this Archives in the personal collection of the architect.
The exhibition also posts the photos of various designs and buildings which have shaped the architectural outlook of the Belarusian towns and in which construction Aleksander Voinov took active part. Among these are the Palace of Pioneers, the Central Party School, the Institute of Physical Education, the buildings of the party town and region executive committees, an airport building, and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus Building (now Administration of President of the Republic of Belarus).
