On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, a patriotic event with schoolchildren was held in the archive of public associations of the Gomel region

On July 2, 2025, a patriotic event dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus was held in the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region».

A screening of the documentary film «History of the Great Victory» was organized for students of the state educational institution «Gymnasium No.10 of Gomel», prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

During the event, archivists reminded the children about the history of the main national holiday, and also introduced them to archival documents testifying to the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War,

memories of veterans of the Great Patriotic War who participated in the defense of Gomel, as well as personal files of the participants of the Gomel People’s Militia Regiment and Heroes of the Soviet Union.

The event ended with a visit to the exhibition of archival documents «And tomorrow was Victory ..»., dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War and a sightseeing tour of the archive.
