BGAMLI held the 19th Readings dedicated to 120th anniversary of Belarusian writer and literary critic Adam BABAREKA

On 24 May 2019 the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art (BGAMLI) held the traditional Uzvyshsha (Excelsior) Readings dedicated to 120th anniversary of Belarusian writer, literary critic and philosopher Adam BABAREKA (1899-1938). The event also marked the 20th anniversary of the first scholarly conference organized by the Archives-Museum and then also dedicated to Adam Babareka.

The speakers at the event included Honorary Archivist of Belarus, former First Deputy Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management Olga Biryukova; Associate Professor at the Belarusian State University, Ph.D. Mikhail Shumeiko; Deputy Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management Alexey Tsvetkov, and BGAMLI Director Anna Zapartyko, who delivered the report on Adam Babareka.

The participants shared a number of interesting reports on various aspects of Belarusian culture and history and their illustration in the documents held at the Belarusian Archives-Museum of Literature and Art.

The event also included an opening of the exhibition of photographs, manuscripts and other documents from the collection of personal papers of Adam Babareka held at the BGAMLI Archives (Fonds No. 407).
