International conference “Archives, Libraries and Museums as Institutions of Social Memory” Minsk, 27-28 May

An international conference “Archives, Libraries and Museums as Institutions of Social Memory” took place in Minsk on 27-28 May 2019.

The organizers of the conference are the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University, the National Library of Belarus and the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Belarus.

In the context of archives, the conference discussed issues related to the role of archives in forming historical memory, digitization of state archives’ documents, development of online resources and websites of archival institutions, preservation of archival records, relations between information users and custodians etc.

Victor Kourash, Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry addressed a welcome speech to the conference participants.
