Workshop on procedures for arrangement and transfer of district court records to state archives for preservation, 9 June 2011

9 June 2011, the archives and records management division and the courts organisation division at the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Justice Administration held a Workshop on Procedures for Arrangement and Transfer of District Court Records to State Archives for Preservation intended for archivists at district courts in Minsk region and the city of Minsk.

The workshop was conducted with the organisational assistance of the court chairman A. F. Khovansky and the archives head D. A. Rodionova.

Participants at the workshop were staff members at the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Justice Administration and the state regional archives.

The purpose of the workshop is to actuate the activities of courts in scholarly arrangement and description of records and their transfer to state archives for preservation.

The speakers at the workshop were the division head for archives and records management at the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, A. V. Filippova, who dwelt on the state of records and archives management in the district courts of Minsk region and the city of Minsk, and the division head for acquisition, agency archives and records management at the State Archives of Minsk Region, T. N. Lipskaya.

A special attention was paid to organisational methods in records management, recordkeeping and court archives, including the procedures for arrangement and transfer of court records to state archives for preservation in strict compliance with archival requirements.

The head of district court archives in Borisov, A. P. Kukhta, informed the colleagues of practices at the agency archives. As an illustration and exchange of good practices, the workshop participants had an excursion of the archive facilities in the Minsk district court held by the head of this archives.
