For the Year of Belarusian Women, the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa presents a document about the educator and honorary citizen of Bragin, V.I.Prikhodko

Valentina Ivanovna Prikhodko graduated from the Philology Department of the V.P.Chkalov Gomel State Institute in 1959. From 1959 to 2004, she worked in the education department and taught Russian and Belarusian languages and literature in schools in the Bragin district. Her contribution to the Belarusian education system was recognized with the medals «For Valiant Labor» (1970) and «For Labor Valor» (1981), the title of «Teacher-Methodologist» (1988), and the «Excellent Education of the Republic of Belarus» badge (1994). In the post-Chernobyl period, Valentina Ivanovna, as one of the victims, received an apartment in Gomel, where she lived out her remaining days with her granddaughter. Former students spoke warmly of Valentina Prikhodko, noting her unique approach to teaching and her support for the development of children’s talents.

The Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa, in the collection of the Bragin District Executive Committee, holds Resolution No.365/25 dated September 19, 1997 (F.214 Op.2 D.309 L.115), which reads: «For many years of active teaching and participation in public life, the District Executive Committee and the Presidium of the District Council of Deputies have decided to award Valentina Ivanovna Prikhodko, Honored Teacher of the Republic of Belarus, the title of Honorary Citizen of the Urban Settlement of Bragin».
