The scale of Union integration: the State Archives of the Minsk Region presented a historical and documentary exhibition project at the 13th Forum of Regions in Molodechno

Employees of the State Archives of the Minsk Region participated in the informational support for the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

The 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is taking place on June 25-26 in Minsk and the Minsk Region. Over a thousand participants attended the forum, which, during thematic sessions on the first day, addressed current issues of cooperation between the two countries—from industry to science and medicine, touching on agro-industrial cooperation between Belarusian and Russian enterprises. Over the years, the forum has become a traditional platform for dialogue between representatives of government agencies and the business communities of Russia and Belarus. The forum is organized by the Council of the Republic of Belarus and the Federation Council of Russia. While the forum’s main venues and main exhibition fair took place at the central site in Minsk, Molodechno became the key venue for large-scale offsite sessions, bringing together representative delegations, leadership of relevant ministries, agencies, and the expert community of the two countries.

On June 25, the first meeting of the Union State Committee on Standardization and Quality was held in Molodechno. The Committee’s main objectives are to ensure technological sovereignty, protect the market from unsafe products, and prevent obstacles to mutual trade and cooperation. The agenda included approximately a dozen issues.

A key element of the business and cultural program at the Molodechno site was a presentation of archival documents from the central region, prepared by the State Archives of the Minsk Region. A traveling banner historical and documentary exhibition, «Minsk Region – the Heart of Great Belarus», was displayed in the Civil Registry Office of the Molodechno District Executive Committee. The project is based on archival primary sources and documents reflecting key milestones in the development of the Minsk region: from its founding in 1938 to its post-war reconstruction and the construction of major industrial facilities. The exhibition vividly demonstrates the region’s dynamics in both general construction and various sectors of the national economy.

Guests were particularly drawn to the direct informational support provided by specialists from the State Archives of the Minsk Region. Archivists acted as guides, conducting tours of the exhibition stands for forum participants and guests. Visitors were able to not only familiarize themselves with the historical chronology but also receive expert commentary on the documents, maps, and statistical data presented.

The presentation of the exhibition project at the international level confirmed the importance of archival documents in providing informational support for large-scale socio-political forums. The work of specialists from the State Archives of the Minsk Region made it possible to clearly reveal the historical potential of the central region and made a significant contribution to strengthening interregional cultural cooperation.
