Participation of BGAML in the training of students of the Faculty of History of BSU on the subject «Archival Studies»

In the period from June 17 to June 22, 2026, the director of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art E.A.Makarenko gave lectures and held seminars with students of the 3rd year of the correspondence course of the BSU History Faculty on the subject of «Archival Studies».

Within the framework of this course, students were able to study the methodology of state archives for collection, evaluation of value, accounting, creation of scientific reference apparatus and use of archival documents.

At the seminars, including those conducted on the basis of BGAMLI, future specialists got acquainted with the organization of the work of the archive-museum with sources of BGAMLI collection (organizations and persons – famous figures of literature and art), carrying out scientific description of documents of personal origin. Special attention was paid to accounting and ensuring the safety of archival documents, creating a system of scientific reference apparatus and forms of using archival documents.

As a result, all students successfully passed the archival examination.
