Staff of the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two screenings of the documentary film «Chernobyl: Chronicles of a Tragedy» at the F.P.Kirichenko Gymnasium No.9 in Grodno

On April 28, 2026, staff of the State Archives of the Grodno Region organized two screenings of the documentary film «Chernobyl: Chronicles of a Tragedy» for students of the F.P.Kirichenko Gymnasium No.9 in Grodno. The film was prepared for the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents with the support of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

Before the screenings, Miroslava Traigel, an archivist at the State Archives of the Grodno Region, spoke to students about the events and consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, as well as the courage of the liquidators who risked their lives to save thousands of people.
