A Journey into the Profession of an Archivist: Zonal State Archives Staff Meet with Children from Kindergarten No.30 in Molodechno

At the invitation of Kindergarten No.30 in Molodechno, Zonal State Archives staff held a fascinating themed activity for preschoolers, taking them on a journey into the world of archiving.

During the meeting, Olga Dvoretskaya, Head of the Document Preservation, State Records, and Scientific Reference Department at the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno, introduced the children to her profession in an accessible, playful way, explaining the role documents play in preserving the history of a country, a city, and an individual family.

A screening of the original animated film «Guardians of Memory» concluded the educational event. The film, created by archive staff using neural networks, vividly demonstrated how the painstaking work of preserving documents helps preserve the memory of the past for future generations.

According to educators, such educational meetings help instill in children, from an early age, a respect for cultural heritage and a conscious attitude toward documents as tangible witnesses to history. Archive staff noted the preschoolers’ strong interest and expressed their willingness to continue holding off-site classes for educational institutions in the Molodechno district.
