Vitebsk Region State Archives staff attended the presentation of the first part of the book «Preserving the Memory of Generations»
On March 24, 2026, the Vitebsk Regional Lenin Library hosted the presentation of the first part of the book «Preserving the Memory of Generations» by Larisa Brueva, Viktor Tereshchenko, and Marina Frolova.
The personal collection of one of the authors, Larisa Brueva, Chair of the Council for the Interaction of Vitebsk Region Search Teams «Poshuk», is held at the Vitebsk Region State Archives.
The publication describes the search movement in the Vitebsk region and the extensive joint work of Belarusian and Russian search teams to restore and preserve the memory of those killed and missing during the Great Patriotic War. It also includes information on the battles on the Western Front in the fall of 1943 and the winter and spring of 1944 on the approaches to Vitebsk, as well as the battles for the liberation of Vitebsk. The book includes excerpts from combat diaries, maps, diagrams, and numerous photographs.
A copy of the publication has been received by the research and reference library of the Vitebsk Regional State Archives.
