On March 24, 2026, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, a joint event between the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI) and the school was held at Minsk Secondary School No.4, dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman.
The opening ceremony was accompanied by warm remarks from the archives and museum’s director, Elena Makarenko, who emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of outstanding Belarusian women and the significance of their contribution to national culture.
The main part of the event was the presentation of the virtual exhibition «Light of the Female Soul», presented by Vera Birulya, Head of the Information, Publication, and Document Use Department at the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI). This exhibition, featuring photographic portraits of famous Belarusian women — Aloiza Pashkevich, Larisa Aleksandrovskaya, Stefania Stanyuta, Lidiya Arabey, and many others—represents a valuable part of the personal collections housed in the museum archive. Each image captured in the photographs reveals not only the external beauty but also the profound inner world, talent, and spiritual strength of these outstanding representatives of Belarusian culture, art, and literature.
Meanwhile, the school’s teachers and students prepared a celebratory concert dedicated to Belarusian women. Musical performances on the violin, piano, and cymbals were performed, along with poetry recitations and vocal compositions. These creative performances, filled with love and respect, enhanced the festive atmosphere and highlighted the special role of women in Belarusian culture.
The joint event between the archive-museum and the school generated great interest and was covered by correspondents from the BELTA news agency, the House of Press press center, and the Union State Information and Analytical Portal.
This meeting provided an excellent opportunity for schoolchildren to delve into the history of their native culture, feel proud of outstanding Belarusian women, and be inspired by their life examples.
