On thematic classes held by the Zonal State Archives in Orsha as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign

On February 12, 2026, as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign, Maria Nikulina, Head of the Document Management Department of the State Archives in Orsha, held thematic classes for students in grades 8-11 at the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.22 in Bolbasovo named after S.I.Gritsevets», on the topics of «The Profession of an Archivist» and «Orsha Region: The Legacy of the Past».

During this event, the students learned about the profession of «archivist», learned about the archive’s main activities and the composition of its collections, the specifics of working with archival documents, and learned about educational institutions that train highly qualified personnel for future work in the archival industry.

In addition, the children were presented with archival documents and photographs telling the history of existing and lost Catholic and Orthodox churches, as well as museums and other historical and cultural heritage sites in the region.
