Memorial complex «In memory of the burned villages of the Mogilev region» in the village of Borki
As part of the implementation of the industry virtual exhibition project «Cities of Belarus», we remember the village of Borki, Kirovsky district, Mogilev region.
83 years have passed.
83 years since ashes replaced houses,
silence replaced laughter,
only memory replaced life.
The date of June 15, 1942 is inscribed in the history of the Kirovsky district in bloody numbers. The punishers of SS Sturmbannführer Oskar Paul Dirlewanger killed and burned the inhabitants of the village of Borki and 6 adjacent villages, more than 2,000 people died that day.
Today, the village of Borki is only a name on the lists, only a page in history, only pain that does not go away. But we remember, and while we remember, it is alive.
