Participation of employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus in the conference «ARS LONGA: scientific achievements and prospects»

On April 10, 2025, employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, leading archivist of the publications department O.N.Borovskaya and head of the information retrieval systems department O.Yu.Yurkevich took part in the VIII International scientific and practical conference of young researchers of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus «ARS LONGA: scientific achievements and prospects».

The director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus V.L.Lakiza addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. In his speech, he noted the scientific and practical significance of the conference, which provides an opportunity for young scientists to present their research work and receive valuable advice from experienced colleagues.

The archive employees took part in the work of two sections of the conference – «General History. International Relations» and «Special Historical Disciplines». Leading archivist of the publications department O.N.Borovskaya presented a report on the topic «Mission of T. Galuyka to Moscow», or the integration of the Soviet-Polish handbook of legal studies in 1928-1930». Head of the information retrieval systems department O.Yu.Yurkevich presented a report on the topic «Trends in the development of the legal life of the Belarusian society in the 1920s on the pages of the legal periodical press of the BSSR».

The presentations of the archivists aroused great interest among the audience. The speakers were asked questions that contributed to the identification of new research directions in the further study of these topics.

Thus, the format of the conference was aimed at involving its participants in the process of knowledge exchange, as well as determining the prospects for further development of the presented issues.
