«Young people must remember!» On the eve of the International Day of Liberation of Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners, archivists of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno took part in a dialogue platform

On the eve of the International Day of Liberation of Nazi Concentration Camp Prisoners, Molodechno archivists took part in a dialogue platform «Young people must remember!» The event was initiated by the Molodechno District Organization of the ROO «Belaya Rus». Young people gathered to discuss the importance of preserving the memory of the tragic events of World War II and their impact on modern society.

During the meeting, the participants shared stories from the biographies of their ancestors, reflected on the importance of historical memory and reflected on how young people can participate in preserving the heroic heritage.

Olga Berezovskaya, an archivist of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno, presented a presentation prepared on the basis of documents stored in the archive. They contain the personal memoirs of the victims of the genocide, former prisoners of the concentration camp «Stalag-342».

Senior assistant prosecutor Andrei Khamenok also spoke at the event.

Participants in the dialogue platform agreed: it is important not only to remember the past, but also to involve young people in active actions to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies in the future.

«It is important for the younger generation to know about the horrors that our ancestors experienced. Only by remembering this can we build a peaceful future», emphasized Irina Potselueva, Chairperson of the Molodechno District Organization of the ROO «Belaya Rus».
