The State Archive of the Vitebsk Region has developed an advertising leaflet for BGAKFFD and its resources in order to popularize the YouTube channel (@bdakffd) of the Institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents»

The Institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents», founded in 1941, is the only archive in Belarus that specializes in working with film, photo, sound, and video documents. Today, the BGAKFFD collections contain over 52 thousand units of film documents, 275 thousand units of photo documents, 22 thousand units of sound documents, and 7 thousand units of video documents. The documents stored in the BGAKFFD collections are a historical source that recorded events, phenomena, and facts in real life.

Within the framework of the project «Open Film Archive», the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and the Department of Archives and Records Management prepares documentaries based on archival chronicles dedicated to significant dates in the history of the country. Unique historical footage is intended to demonstrate events and people that descendants are rightfully proud of. Within the framework of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could» The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region was granted the right to show three films to the public («Liberation of Vitebsk», «Liberation» (Belarus), «Operation Bagration»).

Events with the screening of the chronicles find a lively response from the public. People share their impressions of the viewing, are interested in the place where the chronicles are stored, the authors of the newsreels.

The archivists of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region express their gratitude to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, the Department of Archives and Records Management and the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents for the opportunity to popularize the chronicle and documentary heritage. Archivists and residents of Vitebsk are eagerly awaiting new newsreels.

The advertising leaflet is distributed during events among senior officials, the public, schoolchildren and secondary specialized institutions, colleges and university students.
