Republican campaign «Archives for School» in BGAMLI

On January 29, 2025, the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) held the Republican campaign «Archives for School». A sightseeing tour of the archive-museum was held for 9th-grade students of the Belarusian College of Music.

During the tour, the children walked through the building of the former Bernardine monastery (St. Joseph’s Church), paid attention to the preserved decorative elements and other unique historical artifacts.

The leading archivist of the Department of Information, Publication and Use of Documents of BGAMLI Natalia Aleksandrovna Mizon spoke about what funds and museum items are stored in the archive-museum. She paid special attention to the activities of archivists who carry out work to preserve and pass on the heritage of Belarusian literature and culture to future generations. The students learned how BGAMLI differs from other archival institutions in the country.

During the tour of the exhibition «Belarusfilm: for children and about children» in the reading room of the Belarusian State Academic Film Institute, the visitors got acquainted with documents that illuminate the rich history of Belarusian children’s cinema and the activities of the film studio, which left a bright mark on the cultural life of the country.
