«Archives for School»: demonstration of the banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past» in the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.45 of Mogilev»

On January 22 and 23, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», a demonstration of the banner exhibition «Again, let’s look closer to the past» was held in the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.45 of Mogilev» for 9th grade students. The exhibition was created on the basis of documents from the funds of the institution «State Archives of the Mogilev Region» and photographs presented by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents».

Leading archivist of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region institution Alexey Shvyryov told the students about the history of Mogilev during the Great Patriotic War: the heroic days of the city’s defense, the tragic events of the occupation and genocide of the Belarusian people, the memorable liberation from the Nazi invaders and the difficult post-war restoration of the regional center.

The children were curious about the exhibition and asked questions of interest. The information received is important both for studying history and as part of general civic education.
