The campaign «Archives for School», holding information hours «Developing Belarus. United Belarus», «Union construction and fraternal relations between Belarus and Russia» in the institution «Zonal State Archives in Orsha»

On January 21, 2025, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», with students of grade 11 «B» of the state educational institution «Secondary School No.21 in Orsha», the leading archivist of the department for the use of documents of the State Archives in Orsha, Yulia Ivanovna Gryadovka, information hours were held on the topics: «Developing Belarus. United Belarus», using information material prepared by the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus for the 30th anniversary of the presidency; «Union construction and fraternal relations between Belarus and Russia», timed to coincide with the celebration of the anniversary of the Union State.

During the events, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the key aspects of the development of Belarus over the past three decades, with the main achievements of the country over the years of independence in various areas: industry, energy, agricultural development, health care, education, space exploration, construction of sports facilities and shopping centers, preservation of the historical heritage of the country. We examined the main stages of the creation of the Union State, because the basis of Belarusian-Russian relations are the unshakable principles of friendship and good neighborliness, mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests, as well as a common history, common moral and spiritual values, strong family and kinship ties between many Belarusians and Russians.

Information hours became a platform for discussing current issues of the development of our country, the advantages of comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Russia, as well as the role of archives in preserving historical heritage and culture.

Thematic events held not only enriched the students’ knowledge, but also contributed to the formation of a sense of pride in the achievements of sovereign and independent Belarus. In addition, in the format of a sightseeing tour of the archive, students became acquainted with the history of the creation of the archive, the main areas of activity, the composition of the stored funds, the specifics of working with archival documents and their storage, and became familiar with the display stands that are on display in the archive.
