The Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa took part in the Unified Lesson of Memory of the Ola Tragedy
On January 14, 2025, a Unified Lesson of Memory dedicated to the tragedy in the village of Ola was held in educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus.
This lesson, which took place in Secondary School No.11 in Rechitsa, was attended by archivists from the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa. They told 9th-grade students about the history of the genocide in the Rechitsa District, presenting archival documents from the funds of the Extraordinary State Commission of the USSR for the Investigation of the Crimes of Fascism, the Rechitsa City Executive Committee and the District Executive Committee: witness interrogation protocols, lists of killed residents and punishers, photographs of burned villages, and others.
As part of the Unified Lesson in Memory of the Ola Tragedy, schoolchildren were informed about the tragedy of another Belarusian village – Kobylevo, Vasilevichi District (currently Pervomaysk, Rechitsa District), burned by the Nazis along with its residents on May 14, 1943 under similar circumstances.
