Participation of employees of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region in the charity event «From the Heart»

As part of the «From the Heart» event, a meeting was held between employees of the State Archives of the Mogilev Region and Galina Ivanovna Rybtsova, a labor veteran, chairperson of the public organization «Mogilev Regional Association of Juvenile Prisoners of Fascist Bondage», and a member of the council of veterans of the Leninsky District. The archivists congratulated Galina Ivanovna on the upcoming holidays, wished her good health and long life.

During the meeting, Galina Ivanovna told about her childhood, which fell during the war years. Together with her mother, she ended up in Auschwitz, where she miraculously escaped death, and then was forced to work on the estate of a German general in the village of Walmesdorf, not far from the city of Schwibus.

The horrors of war are firmly etched in her childhood memory. The young prisoners had to endure a difficult ordeal, unbearable even for adults.

The war ended long ago, but the memory of it is preserved in generations. This is facilitated, among other things, by the work of archivists who identify and popularize documents from the period of the Great Patriotic War.
