Virtual exhibition for the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinema

On December 17, 2024, Belarusian cinema celebrates its 100th anniversary. The collection of domestically produced films is diverse in its thematic content: children’s films, war-themed films, documentaries and animation films, which win the most prestigious awards at various international festivals and competitions. Domestic cinema is a significant layer of Belarusian culture.

As part of the festive events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinema, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus prepared a virtual exhibition dedicated to this significant date. It reveals the theme of the origin, features of the development of national cinema in the context of various historical stages of our country, and also reflects the processes and dynamics of the development of domestic cinema at the present stage.
