Participation of employees of the Belarusian State Film and Photo Archives in the International Scientific and Practical Conference «100 Years of Belarusian Cinema: Stages, Films, Masters»

On December 12, 2024, the Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore named after Kondrat Krapiva of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus held a grand opening of the International Scientific and Practical Conference «100 Years of Belarusian Cinema: Stages, Films, Masters».

The following people addressed the conference participants with welcoming speeches: Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Ruslan Iosifovich Chernetsky, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanities and Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician Alexander Alexandrovich Kovalenya, Director of the State Scientific Institution «Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus», Academician Alexander Ivanovich Lokotko, Director of the branch of the Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore named after Kondrat Krapiva, Candidate of Philological Sciences Egor Alekseevich Nenadovets, General Director of the National Film Studio «Belarusfilm» Yuri Maryanovich Aleksey, Chairman of the Republican Public Association «Belarusian Union of Cinematographers» Evgeny Nikolaevich Arendarevich, Rector of the educational institution «Belarusian State Academy of Arts» Mikhail Grigorievich Borozna, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Screen Arts of the educational institution «Belarusian State Academy of Arts», Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Igorevich Vasiliev.

Leading film scholars from Belarus and Russia, heads of the National Film Studio Belarusfilm, the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers, and higher educational institutions of the country took part in its work.

Deputy Head of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information M.V.Garelik spoke at the conference with a report entitled «Mikola Gnisyuk: Life and Work (Based on the Collections of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documents Archive). To the 100th Anniversary of Belarusian Cinema».

At the end of the first day of the conference, a master class by Belarusian film director, producer, and poet A.A.Karpov was held.
