An event on the prevention of crimes in the sphere of extremism was held in the state archive of public associations of the Gomel region

On June 19, 2025, the investigator of the procedural control department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Gomel region, Elena Nikolaevna Afanasyeva, held a conversation with the staff of the state archive on the prevention of crimes in the sphere of extremism.

During the meeting, Elena Nikolaevna acquainted those present with the legislative acts of the Republic of Belarus aimed at combating extremist activity.

Examples were considered of how to recognize signs of extremist propaganda and agitation, including the dissemination of ideas of hatred, calls for violence, incitement of ethnic hatred and other forms of destructive behavior.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the use of social networks to disseminate extremist content. Responsibility for participation in prohibited extremist organizations, including groups on the Internet, was discussed. The consequences of participation in such groups were also discussed.

Elena Nikolaevna separately noted that materials recognized as extremist in the Republic of Belarus are included in the Republican List of Extremist Materials, which is publicly available on the Internet on the website of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus and is constantly updated.
