On the event held at the State Archives of the Gomel Region as part of the republican project «Archives to School»
On October 15, a practical lesson dedicated to the filtration files of repatriated Soviet citizens was held in the reading room of the State Archives of the Gomel Region as part of the republican project «Archives to School».
The lesson was attended by students of 7 «B» of Secondary School No.34 of Gomel under the guidance of the school history teacher Alina Mikhailovna Drozdova.
Senior researcher of the archive reading room Maya Valentinovna Vashchenko revealed to the students the concept of «filtration file», told about the history of the creation of the archival fund of filtration files and acquainted the students with their internal content.
The students showed a sincere interest in the documents of repatriated citizens, asking many questions. Of particular interest was information about the facts of the forced removal of the able-bodied population to the territory of Nazi Germany. Hard physical labor and unbearable conditions of detention in the fascist camps made an indelible impression on the students.
Practical classes involving historical documents from the period of the Great Patriotic War will be continued, as they are of great importance in the patriotic education of the younger generation.
