Exhibitions, lectures, quizzes and a message to the Belarusians of the future: Molodechno archivists took part in the regional celebration of National Unity Day
On September 21, a regional holiday dedicated to National Unity Day was held in MolodechNo. Archivists of the Zonal State Archives took an active part in the event. The large-scale event brought together people from different parts of the region and became a symbol of the cohesion and unity of the Belarusian people.
As part of the holiday, archivists presented various exhibitions reflecting important historical events that reflect the significance of unity and community: the stages of the formation of statehood, the national liberation movement in 1921-1939, genocide during the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Belarus, on information roll-ups and creative facts of the present time and more. The general exposition integrated exhibition materials and documents of the National Historical Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the Minsk Regional Archives, the Presidential Library.
Interactive events, quizzes and lectures allowed each participant to gain a deeper understanding of the history and profession of an archivist.
A special moment was the creation of an archival capsule with letters to Belarusians of the future. This project was attended by deputies, leaders and activists of parties and public associations, representatives of the local vertical of power, journalists, as well as residents and guests of the city. Each of them left their thoughts and wishes in messages that will become part of history and will be passed on to future generations. This is not only a way to preserve the memory of the present, but also an important step towards the formation of a single historical narrative.
– National Unity Day is not just a holiday, but an important event emphasizing the value of cooperation and mutual understanding among citizens. It helps to strengthen social ties and form civic identity. The scale of the event demonstrated how important it is to join efforts to achieve common goals and create a bright future for all Belarusians, shared her opinion Inna Pudakevich, Director of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno.
Thus, the participation of archivists in this holiday was not only a contribution to the preservation of historical memory, but also an important step towards strengthening the unity and solidarity of the people.
