The Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa presents a document on the allocation of a land plot for the construction of the Marat Kazei pioneer camp

In a picturesque corner of the Gomel region, 32 kilometers north of Rechitsa, on the right bank of the Berezina River in a mixed forest zone, there is a children’s health camp (DOL) named after Marat Kazei of the RUE «Production Association «Belorusneft» (popularly – «Maratik»).

The camp dates back to August 1967. But back in the spring, the location of the camp was still being chosen, until the decision No.206 of the executive committee of the Rechitsa district council of workers’ deputies of May 25, 1967 was issued on the allocation of a land plot to the oil production (currently oil and gas production) department «Rechitsaneft» from the lands of the Gorval forestry of the Rechitsa forestry for the construction of a pioneer camp (F. 348. Op. 1. D. 126. L. 305).

Today, the Marat Kazei Children’s Health Camp is one of the best health camps in Belarus and a favorite vacation spot for schoolchildren. Every summer, more than 2 thousand children from 6 to 16 years old come here to improve their health, develop creatively, participate in various events and competitions, and simply have fun. All the conditions have been created for their stay in the camp: dormitories, a dining room, an outdoor swimming pool, sports and dance areas, and more.
