Integration of the BGAMLI website with the QR-guide mobile application

In 2023, after modernization, a new website of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BGAMLI) was opened, thanks to which the Internet resource acquired a stylish modern design. But the work did not stop there. The creation of a web version of the information resource became the starting point for the introduction of modern technologies and an interactive component. The integration of the site with the mobile applications «QR-guide. Traveling together!» and «QR-guide. Museums» was carried out throughout the following year.

On August 28, 2024, the final event was held as part of the integration of the website with mobile technologies. A special sticker with a QR code was placed at the entrance to BGAMLI, which allows you to get acquainted not only with information about the institution and photo materials, but also listen to a full-fledged audio tour in Russian and Belarusian. It was voiced by a great friend and creator of the fund of our institution, actor of the Gorky Theater, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Dushechkin. And on the eve of the opening, to help foreign tourists, a recording appeared in a third language – English.

The presentation of the technology took place in a solemn atmosphere in the presence of the entire BGAMLI team. The director of the archive-museum Elena Makarenko and the head of the developer organization Pavel Syritsky made a welcoming speech.

E. Makarenko emphasized the importance of this event, expressed gratitude to the CVR-Oktyabrsky group of companies, which was engaged in the modernization of the BGAMLI website, and A. Dushechkin for help in creating an audio tour.

P. Syritsky noted that the mobile applications «QR-guide. Traveling together!» and «QR-guide. Museums» are aimed at creating a favorable information environment for tourists and travelers. Today, the technology covers 100 museums in Minsk – state, private, school, departmental. BGAMLI became the first archive to have a QR guide and a sticker.

We are confident that this technology will help tourists and city residents learn a lot of interesting things about our archive-museum, known not only in Belarus, but also far beyond its borders thanks to its unique funds, including personal documents of Belarusian writers, artists, actors, composers.
