The «Archives for School» campaign was held at the «Zonal State Archives in Novogrudok»

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the «Zonal State Archives in Novogrudok» was visited by students from the summer health camp of Secondary School No. 7 in Novogrudok.

As part of the events dedicated to the 980th anniversary of Novogrudok, students were presented with a documentary stand exhibition «Novogrudok Land, My Native Land…». During the lesson, students learned about the history of one of the oldest cities in Belarus, its landmarks, architectural and cultural monuments, the history of industrial enterprises and educational institutions, and also saw the city in its modern form.

In the foyer of the second floor of the state archive, students were shown a documentary exhibition «We stood firm and won», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The exhibition documents tell about the initial period of the Great Patriotic War in Novogrudok, the situation of the civilian population during the occupation, and the long-awaited liberation on July 8, 1944.

The meeting ended with a tour of the archive storage, where the children learned about the rules for the placement, registration and storage of archival documents.

The schoolchildren were very active listeners, asked many questions, and were interested in the history of their small homeland.
