The institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation» for the team of the Ministry of Taxes and Taxation Inspectorate for the Novobelitsky district of Gomel

July 2, 2024 as part of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could». The institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the State Archive) organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation» for the team of the Ministry of Taxes and Taxation Inspectorate for the Novobelitsky district of Gomel, numbering 20 people.

Director of the GAGom Andrei Nikolaevich Suschevich presented the documentary exhibition «The Unconquered Gomel Region» to the invited guests. This exhibition project is a significant contribution to the great work being carried out by archival institutions to preserve the historical memory of the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

Speaking to the participants of the event, the director of the archive spoke about the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», which was prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, where the story about the liberation of the cities of Belarus is told in chronological order.

Before watching the documentary film «Liberation», the employees talked about the events of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) and the need to preserve historical memory. During the discussion, the director of the GAGom gave comprehensive answers to all the questions asked.

In addition, Marina Bortnovskaya, the leading archivist of the department of accounting and ensuring the safety of documents of the State Archive, gave invited guests a tour of the archives.
