Carrying out events at the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» dedicated to the International Week of Archives

During the period from June 5 to 7, the International Archives Week was held at the State Archives of the Grodno Region institution. As part of the week, a staff meeting was organized at which issues related to the activities of the archive at the present stage were discussed. A sightseeing tour of the archive and a master class on restoration, repair and binding of documents were also held for employees of the Grodno City Central Library named after A.Makayonok. The archive staff told the guests about the structure and main activities of the institution, the composition and content of the stored documents. The most interesting and valuable documents from the archive’s funds, exhibitions of documents dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, as well as collections of documents and materials prepared with the participation of the archive were presented to the attention of visitors. During the excursion, guests visited the archives and also observed the process of restoring paper media in the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.

Citizens were also consulted by telephone and in person on the location of archival documents necessary to resolve social issues, as well as on biographical and genealogical issues.
