On the participation of archivists in the republican information and educational campaign «Step to Success»

On June 11, 2024, the director of the institution «Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science» A.E. Rybakov visited the State educational institution «Children’s health camp «Druzhba» village. Energetikov» (Minsk region, Dzerzhinsky district), where he took part in an event as part of the republican information and educational campaign «STEP to success».

The «STEP to Success» campaign is being implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and is aimed at developing civic and patriotic consciousness among young people, popularizing family values, and the achievements of national culture in modern Belarus.

During a meeting with camp students, A.E. Rybakov spoke about his life path, achievements in his professional field, and overcoming difficulties in achieving his goals. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that the leading factors determining a person’s success are the degree of his self-knowledge and awareness of the need to make certain efforts to achieve personal goals and social recognition.

During the conversation, A.E. Rybakov spoke about the work of the Archive Service of the Republic of Belarus aimed at preserving the documentary heritage of the Belarusian people, exhibitions, presentations, and other events held by archival institutions, including those implemented within the framework of the «Archives for Schools» project. Pupils were able to see images of archival documents from various historical eras when watching the video film «Archives in the service of the country, society, people,» filmed for the 100th anniversary of the archival service.

The meeting was held in dialogue mode, the students were able to ask questions that interested them, express their own opinions and judgments.

The event ended with a collective viewing of the film «Liberation,» dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Audio Documents,» which provided organizational support for the event.
