New arrival of documents from the personal archive of Dovnar Yulian Frantsevich in BSAMLA

The Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLA) received documents from the front-line documentary cameraman of the Great Patriotic War, Yulian Frantsevich Dovnar.

Lyudmila Yulianovna Dovnar-Malitskaya, a chemical technologist, author of inventions and scientific publications at the Belarusian State Technological University, handed over her father’s documents.

The archive-museum received biographical documents of Yu.F. Dovnar: passes and certificates of the Trans-Baikal Military District (1942), Red Army Administration, Western Front (1943), III Belorussian Front (1945), certificates of injury (1945), photographs, letters, etc.

The leadership of BSAMLA expresses gratitude to the leading researcher at the Center for the Study of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, candidate of art history, associate professor Konstantin Igorevich Remishevsky for his assistance in obtaining documents that are valuable for the study of Belarusian documentary films of the Great Patriotic War and the patriotic education of youth.
