Participation of employees of the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk in events dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War

On May 8, 2024, on Freedom Square at the monument to the Liberators of the city of Polotsk, a city patriotic event «Victory Lives in Generations!» was held, dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Employees of the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk joined the action, observed a minute of silence in memory of those killed in battle, and laid flowers in memory of the hero-liberators.

On May 9, 2024, the celebration of Victory Day in Polotsk began with the «Belarus Remembers!» procession. More than 1,000 people came with portraits of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers to take part in the procession. This action is a tribute to the memory of those who forged Victory at the fronts, in the rear, who were driven into fascist slavery, tortured in concentration camps and ghettos.

The holiday continued with the patriotic action «The glory will not be silent these days!» on the stage of the Mound of Immortality.
