The State Archive of the Vitebsk Region has prepared a virtual exhibition of documents «Eaglets», dedicated to Victory Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

The exhibition presents materials from a collection of documents with memories of participants in the Great Patriotic War and the texts of articles about young patriots of the Vitebsk region, published in the newspaper «Vitebsk Workers» in 1987.

For the first time, stories about pioneers and schoolchildren of the Vitebsk region, participants in the Great Patriotic War, were published on the pages of the «Vitsebsk Worker’s» in 1975. Materials about young heroes were collected thanks to the associate professor of the Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute named after S.M.Kirov N.I.Dorofeenko, the help of workers of the regional Komsomol committee, the regional museum of local lore, the regional Palace of Pioneers, the Orsha city House of Pioneers, the Rossony Museum and the editorial office of the newspaper.

Stories from the pages of the newspaper told not only about the military exploits of young war participants, but also provided brief biographical information.
