Conducting a lesson for 10th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign at the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On the eve of the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 7, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» event, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» for students of class 10 «A» of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 33 named after G.I. Obelevsky Grodno» a lesson was held on the topic «On the Roads of War».

Documentary materials from the German occupation authorities were presented to the attention of schoolchildren: cards of prisoners of war who were in German camps, work certificates of citizens sent to work in Germany, certificates of ghetto prisoners, questionnaires of workers. Students got acquainted with documents of partisan and underground brigades operating in the Grodno region during the years of Nazi occupation. Also, the children were presented with exhibitions of documents dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, exhibited in the reading room of the archive.

The lesson ended with a sightseeing tour of the archives.
