June 22 — a day that cannot be forgotten
On June 20, 2025, in the summer health camp «Neugomon», which operates at Secondary School No.10 named after V.M.Azin in Polotsk, patriotic education lessons were held on the topic «June 22 — a day that cannot be forgotten». The classes were organized by the head of the department for the use and publication of documents of the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk, M.M.Dichkevich, with the aim of forming in the students a sense of pride in their country, an awareness of the significance of historical events and respect for the memory of those who gave their lives for freedom and independence.
As part of the lessons, the children learned about the tragic events that took place on June 22, 1941, when the Nazi invaders treacherously invaded the territory of the Soviet Union. Marina Mikhailovna, using archival photographs and documentary video materials, recreated the atmosphere of that terrible day, spoke about the heroism of Soviet soldiers and civilians who stood up to defend their homeland.
Particular attention was paid to studying the history of Polotsk during the Great Patriotic War. The children learned about the courage and fortitude of the Polotsk residents, about their contribution to the victory over the enemy.
The patriotic education lessons ended with a minute of silence in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War.
