About the presentation of the film «Partisans» at the «Pioneer» cinema

On May 2, 2024, the premiere of a documentary film prepared by the team of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Audio Documents (hereinafter referred to as BSAFPAD) took place at the Pioneer cinema. The theme of the film, released as part of the project «Biography of My Country» was the partisan movement on the territory of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War. The emphasis in the selection of newsreel material was placed on demonstrating to a wide audience the life of partisan detachments and formations, which for a long time remained behind the scenes.

The opening speech to the guests of the premiere, students of schools and gymnasiums of the Leninsky district of Minsk, was made by the head of the department of state accounting and scientific reference apparatus M.D. Romanova, briefly highlighting the history of the creation of film documents on the basis of which the film was created. The report also emphasized the need to popularize unique documents in order to preserve historical memory and a correct understanding of the events of the Great Patriotic War.

An interesting continuation of the previously started topic of partisan formations and their role in the offensive operation «Bagration» was a conversation with the director of the film «Time to Return» Ivan Pavlov. After a story about the filming of the film, its characters and their prototypes in real life, the premiere screening of the military-historical drama took place.

On the same day, M.D. Romanova had an interview with the host of the radio programs «Nastroy» and «Tvorchy Vechar» of the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio, Yana Hadosko. The main topic of the conversation was archive projects such as «Open Film Archive», «Biography of My Country», «Without Retouching», «In the Public Access».
