Conducting a lesson for 7th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.4 named after D.V. Kazakevich in Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» campaign at the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region»

On April 30, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» held a lesson on the topic «Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War» for 7th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No.4 named after D.V. Kazakevich in Grodno».

Archive staff told students about the genocide of the population of the Grodno region during the Nazi occupation. The schoolchildren were shown documentary materials illustrating the criminal activities of the occupation authorities: cards of prisoners of war who were in German camps, work certificates of citizens sent to work in Germany, certificates of ghetto prisoners, documents of the Grodno regional commission for the investigation and establishment of the atrocities of the Nazi invaders and the damage caused by them damage. Also, the students were presented with exhibitions of documents dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, exhibited in the reading room of the archive.

The lesson ended with a sightseeing tour of the archives.
