A single information day was held at the State Archive of the Gomel Region institution

On April 26, 2024, at the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the State Archive), a meeting of archive workers was held as part of a single information day.

In his report, GAGom director A.N. Suschevich spoke about the memorable mournful date – April 26, 1986, when the largest man-made disaster in the history of nuclear energy occurred at the 4th power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

«April 26 is a memorable date in Belarus. This is the Day of the Chernobyl tragedy. Chernobyl is our pain and memory. Everyone’s memory. We must not forget about the heroic feat of the people who honestly performed their duty during the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant,» noted GAGom Director A.N. Suschevich.

Employees of the regional archive honored the memory of the victims of the Chernobyl disaster with a minute of silence.

Continuing the meeting, A.N. Suschevich brought to the attention of the team information about events in the country and abroad for March 2024. In particular, he dwelt in detail on the personnel changes considered on March 11, 2024 by the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko.

«By appointing new leaders of the local vertical, Alexander Lukashenko demanded more responsibility and initiative from each person, especially in terms of improvement and putting things in order,» noted archive director A.N. Sushchevich.

Andrei Nikolaevich also said that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the Code of Civil Procedure. The document is intended to establish uniform rules for the consideration of civil and economic cases in courts. The Code contains a number of innovations aimed at increasing the efficiency of civil proceedings. Among them are the use of electronic evidence, further digitalization of the judicial process, the introduction of the institution of class actions, and simplified legal proceedings. The Code will come into force on January 1, 2026.
