BSAMLA: Participation in a report for the ONT program «Our Morning»

Archivist of the Belarusian Archive-Museum of Literature and Art Ksenia Viktorovna Tsynkevich took part in a report for the ONT program «Our Morning», which aired on March 19, 2024.

The plot is dedicated to Vladimir Korsh-Sablin and the history of Belarusian cinema.

Vladimir Korsh-Sablin is an outstanding film director, Honored Artist, People’s Artist of Belarus and the USSR, a classic of Belarusian cinema. From 1945 – 1960, 1969 – 1974 – artistic director of the Belarusfilm film studio. From 1957-1974 headed the Union of Cinematographers of Belarus.

His most famous work is the painting «Born in Fire,» dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the BSSR. Later, the first sound film of Belarusian cinema, «First Platoon,» was released, which entered the golden fund of Soviet cinema. Next came the films: «Years of Fire», «Konstantin Zaslonov», «Red Leaves», «Let’s Remember This Day» and others.

In the post-war years, V. Korsh-Sablin made a film about the revival of the village «New House», an idyllic film story «The Girls Sowed Flax», and filmed the plays of Kondrat Nettle «The Larks Sing» and «Who Laughs Last». Based on the trilogy of Yakub Kolas «On Rosstanyakh», the film «First Tests» was made.
