Conducting a lesson for 10th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign at the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On March 1, 2024, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» held a lesson on the topic «The role of archives in the preservation of historical heritage».

Archive staff told schoolchildren about the history of the State Archives of the Grodno Region, its structure and main areas of activity. The students were presented with the most interesting and valuable documents stored in the archive. During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the exhibitions of documents on the events of the Great Patriotic War on display in the reading room, as well as with collections of documentary materials prepared with the participation of the State Archives of the Grodno Region.

At the end of the lesson, the students were given a sightseeing tour of the archive, during which they visited the archive storage and the laboratory for restoration, binding and repair of documents.
